Idli is mostly made with lentil-rice batter or rava, but to make them fibre-rich, you can use oats. The ingredient is known for helping people manage their blood sugar levels and aid in weight management. Check out the recipe.
½ cup rava 1 cup oats 1 cup water ½ tsp salt, fruit salt ½ tbsp lemon juice, oil ¼ cup curd 2 tbsp carrot, coriander 4 tbsp water ½ tsp mustard, cumin seeds ½ tsp ginger 1 tsp urad dal A pinch of hing 5-6 curry leaves
Blend oats into a coarse powder. Keep it aside.
Prepare the tempering of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves, and urad dal.
Roast oats in it and turn off the flame.
Add water, curd, rava, fruit salt, and salt into the pan.
When the batter is smooth, add ginger, carrot, lemon juice, and coriander leaves.
Pour the batter into greased idli moulds and cook for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy idli with coconut chutney.
