Oats idli is a healthy and delicious twist to traditional South Indian Idli. It is made with oats, rava, and yoghurt. This idli is light, soft, and packed with nutrients, making it a perfect breakfast or light snack.
1 cup oats ½ cup rava 1 cup yoghurt ½ cup water (adjust as needed) ½ tsp baking soda ¼ cup grated carrot 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp chopped green chillies Salt to taste For tempering 2 tsp oil ½ tsp mustard seeds ½ tsp urad dal ½ tsp chana dal 8 to 10 curry leaves 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
Dry roast oats in a pan on medium heat until they turn lightly golden, then cool and grind into a fine powder.
Dry roast rava for 2-3 minutes and keep aside.
Take a bowl, mix powdered oats, roasted rava, yoghurt, salt and add water to make a thick batter, then let it rest for 10 minutes.
Heat oil, temper with mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, ginger, and add to the batter along with grated carrot, coriander, and green chillies.
Just before steaming, add 1 tsp Eno mix, gently pour into greased idli moulds and steam for 12 to 15 minutes.
