North Indian Dahi Bhalla Recipe: Melt-in-Mouth Magic In Every Spoon

Soft, spongy urad dal fritters soaked in yoghurt, topped with tangy tamarind and green chutney, sprinkled with chat masala and chilli powder. A refreshing, flavorful chaat perfect for appetisers or festive treats.

Ingredients

½ cup urad dal 2-3 tbsp rice flour Salt to taste Oil for deep frying 1 cup whisked yoghurt Tamarind chutney and green chutney Chat masala, red chilli powder

Step 1

Soak urad dal for 4-5 hours, grind to a smooth batter, then add rice flour and salt.

Step 2

Heat oil, drop small portions of batter, and fry until golden brown, then soak them in water for 10 mins and squeeze gently.

Step 3

Place bhallas in a bowl, pour yoghurt over.

Step 4

Drizzle tamarind & green chutney, sprinkle chilli powder and chat masala.

Step 5

Garnish with pomegranate seeds or coriander and serve chilled.
