Traditional atta halwa recipe brings the warmth of home to your plate. Slowly roasted in ghee and sweetened just right, it’s a rich, nutty dessert that melts in your mouth and feels like a hug from the kitchen.
½ cup whole wheat flour ½ cup sugar ½ cup ghee 1½ cups water Nuts & raisins (optional)
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan, add atta, and roast slowly on a low flame, stirring continuously to prevent lumps or burning.
Roast until the atta turns aromatic and deep golden, releasing a rich nutty fragrance.
In another pot, boil water with sugar until fully dissolved.
Slowly pour the sweetened water into the roasted flour while stirring, forming a smooth atta halwa without lumps.
Cook until thick, glossy, and the ghee starts separating at the edges. Add nuts and serve warm.
