Kesar Shrikhand is a creamy yoghurt dessert infused with saffron and cardamom, prepared as an offering to Goddess Kushmanda on Day 4 of Navratri. It is rich, refreshing, and perfect for bhog.
500 g hung curd (strained yoghurt) ½ cup powdered sugar 8–10 saffron strands 2 tbsp warm milk ½ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped almonds and pistachios
Soak saffron in warm milk for 10 minutes.
Whisk hung curd until smooth and creamy.
Add sugar and cardamom, then mix well.
Pour in saffron milk and stir evenly.
Garnish with nuts, chill, and serve.
