Coconut or nariyal barfi, also known as thengai barfi, is a traditional South Indian sweet. While it is made with the simplest ingredients, nariyal barfi is sure to please every sweet tooth and impress the guests.
2 cups grated coconut 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 2 tbsp ghee 1/4 tsp cardamom powder Cashew nuts or pistachios for garnish
Take a pan and simmer milk and sugar till it dissolves.
Increase the heat and add grated coconut. Keep stirring till the mixture thickens.
Add in cardamom powder. Reduce the heat and let the mixture get to a dough-like consistency.
Once ready, transfer it to a greased tray and spread evenly.
Garnish with chopped cashew nuts and pistachios. Cut into pieces and enjoy.
