Nariyal barfi is a classic Indian sweet made with fresh coconut and sugar. Soft, grainy, and mildly fragrant, it’s a festive favourite that balances sweetness with comforting coconut richness.
2 cups fresh grated coconut 1 cup sugar ½ cup milk 2 tbsp ghee ¼ tsp cardamom powder
Heat ghee in a pan, add grated coconut, and sauté gently for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in milk and cook on low heat until the coconut softens well.
Add sugar and stir continuously as the mixture begins to thicken.
Mix in cardamom powder and cook till it comes together as a mass.
Transfer to a greased plate, spread evenly, cool slightly, and cut into barfi pieces.
