Celebrate Narali Purnima 2026 by making these traditional fresh coconut laddus at home. This simple festive sweet requires only a few ingredients, highlighting the natural richness of freshly grated coconut cooked slowly with sweetened condensed milk. Scented with warm cardamom powder, the mixture is rolled into bite sized spheres that melt in the mouth. These delightful treats are perfect for offering during prayers and sharing with loved ones on this auspicious day.
2 cups freshly grated coconut 1 tablespoon pure ghee 1 cup sweetened condensed milk 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder 1/4 cup desiccated coconut for rolling
Heat the pure ghee in a heavy bottomed pan over low heat and gently sauté the freshly grated coconut for three minutes until fragrant but not browned.
Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and stir continuously for about ten minutes until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
Stir in the cardamom powder, remove the pan from the heat, and allow the coconut mixture to cool slightly until it is safe to handle.
Grease your palms lightly with ghee, roll the warm mixture into small round laddus, and coat each one evenly in the desiccated coconut before storing.
