Mysore Masala Dosa: Make The South Indian Favourite At Home

Mysore masala dosa is a popular South Indian delight, which is not just limited to Karnataka. Made with a spicy masala and a potato-based filling, you can whip up Mysore masala dosa in your kitchen.

Ingredients

For the batter: 1 cup rice 1/4 cup urad dal 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds 1 cup water Salt to taste For the masala: 2 potatoes 1/2 onion 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste Oil for cooking

Step 1

Rinse and soak rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds overnight.

Step 2

Grind the soaked mixture into a smooth batter and let it ferment.

Step 3

Heat some oil and saute chopped onion. Add cubed potatoes and cook till soft.

Step 4

Mix in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Set aside.

Step 5

Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladle of fermented batter. Spread it into a circle and cook till crisp.

Step 6

Place a spoonful of the cooked masala in the centre of the dosa. Fold it and serve with sambar.
