Mysore bonda is a popular snack consumed across the Southern states of India. The round fried balls, stuffed with spiced filling, complement hot ginger tea or coffee in the evening. You can also relish these for breakfast.
1 cup wheat flour ¼ cup rice flour ½ tsp salt, baking soda ½ cup curd 1 tbsp onion 3-4 tbsp water ¼ tsp ginger 2 tbsp coriander leaves Oil for frying 2 green chillies ½ tsp cumin seeds
Whisk all the dry ingredients together in a deep bowl.
Add curd and water to the blend and whisk again.
Let the oil heat in a kadhai while you add coriander leaves and onion to the bowl.
The consistency of the batter must be thick.
Take a spoonful of this batter and drop it in hot oil.
When bondas are golden brown and crispy, serve them hot.
