Why are you settling for a card or a cake? This Mother’s Day, try this easy recipe to make a chocolate pie and win your mom’s heart. The best part? You don’t have to be a professional baker to bake the pie.
For The Pie Crust: 1.5 cups maida 1/2 cup butter 4 tablespoons cold water Pinch of salt For The Chocolate Filling: 2.5 cups milk 6 egg yolks 6 tablespoons butter 1/3 cup powdered sugar 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 cup chopped chocolate .5 teaspoons vanilla extract
Whisk flour, butter, cold water, and salt till you get a consistent dough.
Transfer the dough to a baking pan and bake for about fifteen minutes. Set aside.
Prepare the chocolate filling by mixing milk, sugar, and cornstarch in a pan.
Then, whisk in egg yolks over medium heat till the mixture thickens.
Turn off the heat and add butter, chocolate, and vanilla extract till smooth.
Pour the filling into the pie crust and refrigerate for at least three hours before serving.
