No matter how much you travel, when you come back home, all you need is a bowl of khichdi to reset your body and cleanse your gut. High in protein and fibre, try this moong dal khichdi recipe ready in 15 minutes.
1 cup split moong dal 1 cup rice 3 tablespoons ghee 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon hing 1 tablespoon ginger 1/2 tablespoon garlic 1/2 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon black peppercorns Salt to taste 2.5 cups water Coriander leaves (for garnish)
Rinse and soak moong dal and rice for about 30 minutes.
Heat the ghee and prepare the tadka by adding cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and hing.
Add grated ginger, minced garlic, turmeric, and black peppercorns, and saute.
Add the tadka with the soaked rice and dal to a pressure cooker. Season with salt.
Pour in water, close the lid, and cook for 4-5 whistles on a medium flame.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and some ghee, and serve with papad and dahi.
