Moong dal khichdi is a staple in many Indian households. It is protein-rich and good for people trying to recover from a viral infection, stomach ailment, or flu. It uses a minimum number of spices and tastes delicious.
1 cup moong dal ¾ cup rice 1.75 cups water ½ tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp ghee 1 tsp cumin seeds ¼ tsp hing
Wash dal and rice separately and keep them soaked for 15-20 minutes.
Heat a pressure cooker and add ghee to it.
Sprinkle jeera and hing in it.
Fold in the moong dal and rice. Pour water.
Sprinkle salt and turmeric powder.
Cook for 3-4 whistles and serve with lemon pickle, raita, and papad.
