Idli is a South Indian staple that can be enjoyed as a healthy breakfast or light snack. To make it protein-rich, you can make moong dal idli with this step-by-step guide.
1 cup moong dal ½ cup urad dal 1 inch ginger 2-3 green chilies 1 teaspoon cumin seeds ½ teaspoon hing 8-10 curry leaves Salt to taste 1 tablespoon oil
Rinse and soak moong dal and urad dal separately overnight.
Drain excess water and grind the lentils till you get a smooth batter.
Add grated ginger, chopped green chillies, cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves, and salt.
Let the batter ferment. Heat some oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Mix the tempering with the batter and pour into idli moulds.
Steam to perfection and serve the moong dal idlis with sambar and chutney.
