Moong dal chilla is a light, protein-rich breakfast, prepared by blending soaked moong dal and some mild spices. It is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. It is a delicious, healthy option to regular dosas.
1 cup yellow moong dal (soaked 3–4 hours) 1 green chilli 1-inch ginger 2 tbsp chopped onion 1 tbsp chopped coriander Salt to taste Oil for cooking
Soak 1 cup of moong dal in water for about 3–4 hours, or you can also leave it overnight.
In a grinder, blend the soaked dal with ginger and some green chilli to make a smooth paste.
Add some salt and coriander to the batter. Mix well.
Grease the sizzling hot tawa lightly with oil and season it to make the chillas.
Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it into a thin circle.
Cook it from both sides until it turns golden and crisp. Serve hot with green chutney.
