A soft, chewy mochi dessert that blends traditional Japanese texture with a delicate sweetness. This quick, homemade version is perfect when you want a cute, café-style treat without the fuss, simple ingredients, and dreamy results.
1 cup glutinous rice flour 1 cup milk ¼ cup sugar 1 tbsp cornflour ½ cup sweetened red bean paste (or any filling)
Mix milk, sugar, and glutinous rice flour in a bowl until smooth and lump-free.
Microwave or steam the batter for 3-4 minutes, until it thickens and becomes stretchy.
Dust a board with cornflour and carefully transfer the hot dough, let it cool slightly.
Flatten small portions of dough, place a teaspoon of filling inside, and pinch to seal.
Chill for 20-30 minutes so the mochi sets and gets its signature bouncy texture.
