Halwa is a staple post-dinner treat in most North Indian households. To make a rich dessert, you can take assorted dry fruits and nuts and turn them into halwa. Just follow these 4 easy steps.
1 cup mixed dried fruits (dates, figs, raisins) 1 cup mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts) 1/2 cup ghee 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup milk 1 teaspoon cardamom powder A pinch of saffron
Chop the dried fruits and nuts into small pieces.
Heat some ghee and roast the chopped fruits and nuts till fragrant.
Add sugar and milk and stir till the halwa thickens. Mix in cardamom powder and saffron.
Transfer the halwa into a bowl and garnish with more nuts and dry fruits.
