Mirchi Pakora: Deep-Fried Snack To Relish With Tea

Mirchi pakora or mirchi bajji is known across the country by different names. Prepared with large green chillies and stuffing of potatoes, it is a monsoon-special delight. Pair it with masala chai, and you will serve the best combination for brunch, breakfast, and snack. Note the step-by-step guide to make it.

Ingredients

For Stuffing 3 boiled potatoes Salt to taste 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp amchur powder 2 tbsp coriander leaves ½ tsp garam masala ½ tsp red chilli powder ¼ tsp pepper 1 tbsp lemon juice

For Mirchi Pakora 200 grams of green chillies 1 cup besan 3-4 tbsp water Salt to taste ½ tsp cumin powder ¼ tsp red chilli powder Oil for frying

Step 1

Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them. Mix the potatoes with powdered spices.

Step 2

Rinse the green chillies and slit them at the centre. You can de-seed them to tone down the heat.

Step 3

Stuff the chillies with potato mixture and dip them in the besan batter.

Step 4

Drop the besan-coated chillies into hot oil and deep-fry them until golden brown.

Step 5

Serve the chillies with masala chai and enjoy.
