Million Dollar Spaghetti is a decadent, crowd-pleasing casserole that elevates basic pasta into a luxurious, multi-layered masterpiece. The secret lies in its rich cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese filling, which is sandwiched between layers of al dente spaghetti and a hearty, garlic-infused meat or marinara sauce. Topped with a generous blanket of melted mozzarella, it offers an incredibly comforting, restaurant-quality meal perfect for feeding a crowd or warming up a weeknight.
250g spaghetti noodles 500g minced meat (beef or chicken) or a rich chunky marinara sauce 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes or passata 100g cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup cottage cheese (or ricotta) 2 garlic cloves, finely minced 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp dried oregano
Boil the spaghetti in a large pot of salted water until just al dente, then drain and set aside.
Brown the minced meat or heat your marinara sauce in a pan with the minced garlic, chopped tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper for 10 minutes until thick.
Combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese in a medium bowl, blending thoroughly until smooth and uniform.
Spread half of the cooked spaghetti into a greased baking dish, spread the creamy cheese filling evenly on top, add the remaining spaghetti, and pour the hot sauce over it.
Blanket the top generously with shredded mozzarella and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25 minutes until the cheese is bubbling, golden brown, and melted.
