Millet thepla is a nutritious flatbread made with millet flour, wheat flour, spices, and herbs. Soft and flavourful, it is ideal for travel, breakfast, or as a wholesome meal with curd or pickle.
1 cup millet flour (bajra/jowar/ragi as preferred) ½ cup whole wheat flour 2 tbsp yoghurt 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1 green chilli (chopped) 1 tsp ginger paste 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain) ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp sesame seeds Salt to taste 2 tsp oil for dough + extra for cooking
Mix millet flour, wheat flour, yoghurt, coriander, chilli, ginger, sesame, spices, salt, and oil. Add water gradually and knead into soft dough.
Roll into thin discs and cook on a hot tawa with light oil until golden spots appear on both sides.
Serve hot with pickle, chutney, or curd.
