Mexican Picante Sauce Recipe You’ll Keep Repeating All Winter

Picante sauce is significantly thinner and more liquid than other Mexican condiments, unlike salsa. Only tomatoes, onions, garlic, jalapenos, salt, and pepper are used to make the picante sauce. It’s a perfect sauce for the winter that warms up your entire body. Follow this easy recipe and add picante to your drinks and snacks.

Ingredients

400 grams of dried tomatoes, diced ½ cup of chopped onions ½ cup of minced cilantro 2 jalapeno peppers, without seeds 3 tablespoons of lime juice 1 tablespoon of chilli powder ¼ teaspoon of grated lime zest 5 teaspoons of hot pepper sauce A pack of tortilla chips

Step 1

In a grinder, blend the dried tomatoes, chopped onions, cilantro and jalapeno peppers. Grind it into a paste.

Step 2

In a small bowl, add the chilli powder, lime juice and pepper sauce. Mix it. Then blend it in a grinder as well.

Step 3

In a bigger mixing bowl, add both pastes together. Pour it into the blender. Grind it into a smooth consistency.

Step 4

Serve picante as a dip with tortilla chips or with alcoholic beverages for your guests.
