Methi paratha is a nutritious Indian flatbread made with whole wheat flour and fresh fenugreek leaves (methi). They make for a great snack or a light meal and are perfect for any time in the day.
2 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup fresh fenugreek leaves 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp carom seeds 1/2 tsp garam masala 2 tbsp yoghurt 2 tbsp oil Salt Ghee or oil
In a bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped fenugreek leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, carom seeds, garam masala, and salt.
Add the yoghurt and 2 tablespoons of oil. Gradually add water, little by little, and knead the mixture into a soft, smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls. Take one dough ball, dust it with some flour, and roll it out into a flat disc.
Heat a tawa, cook the paratha for about 1-2 minutes until small bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip the paratha and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
Apply ghee or oil on both sides until golden brown spots appear and the paratha is cooked through.
