Meethe Chawal Recipe: Perfect Winter Lunch For The Weekend

Weekend meals have to be special, especially after all the busy weekdays. Made with basic ingredients in under 20 minutes, why don’t you try this recipe and give yourself a little treat this weekend?

Ingredients

1.5 cups soaked rice 2.5 tablespoons ghee 1.5 cups sugar 1 cup chopped dry fruits 4 green cardamom 4 cloves 1 cinnamon stick Pinch of saffron Pinch of salt

Step 1

Boil the soaked rice in water, salt, and 2-3 green cardamoms.

Step 2

In a separate pan, add some ghee and cinnamon and heat till they sputter.

Step 3

Once aromatic, add rice, saffron, and chopped nuts like almonds, cashews, and raisins.

Step 4

After everything is mixed, add sugar and cook till it is caramelised.

Step 5

Keep stirring to coat the rice with sugar syrup.

Step 6

Garnish with some more chopped dry fruits and serve hot.
