Crunchy and incredibly addictive, banana chips are the best snack to munch on match day. Prepared with raw bananas and fried until they turn golden, banana chips can be prepared quickly and are perfect for nibbling in every over.
3 raw bananas 2 cups coconut oil (for frying) ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons water (to mix salt solution)
Peel 3 raw bananas, cut them into slices and then dip them in water to prevent them from turning brown.
In a deep pan, pour coconut oil and heat on a medium flame. Coconut oil gives the banana chips their signature fragrance and authentic Kerala-style taste.
Pat dry the sliced bananas thoroughly and then place in small batches in the hot oil.
In a bowl, mix 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon turmeric, and 2 tablespoons water. Sprinkle a little of this mixture into the oil to season the chips uniformly.
Fry for about 3 to 4 minutes until the chips turn golden and crisp from all sides.
Remove chips and drain them on the paper towels. Let them cool fully, then store in an air-tight box so they remain crunchy for a longer time.
