Master The Malpua Recipe: Traditional Indian Sweet For Festivals

Malpua is a popular Indian sweet made from a batter of flour, semolina, sugar, and cardamom, fried until golden, and soaked in sugar syrup. Soft, flavourful, and indulgent, it’s often enjoyed during festivals and special occasions.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour ½ cup semolina 2 tbsp sugar ½ tsp cardamom powder 1 cup milk 2 tbsp chopped nuts Ghee or oil for frying Sugar syrup (½ cup sugar + ¼ cup water, boiled)

Step 1

Mix flour, semolina, sugar, and cardamom powder, then gradually add milk to form a smooth, thick batter.

Step 2

In a frying pan, heat ghee or oil on medium flame.

Step 3

Pour small rounds of batter into hot ghee and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Step 4

Remove fried malpuas and immediately dip in warm sugar syrup for 1-2 minutes.

Step 5

Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm.
