Masala uttapam is a sustainable dish because it can be prepared using leftover idli-dosa batter. It will hardly take you 15 minutes, and a delicious breakfast will be ready. Check out the recipe.
5 potatoes 2 tbsp oil Salt, pepper to taste 1 tsp ginger, chillies A pinch of asafoetida 8-10 curry leaves 1 tsp mustard seeds 3 cups idli-dosa batter 2 tbsp coriander leaves ½ cup water, onions ½ tsp cumin, turmeric powder Sambar powder ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ cup tomatoes
Boil potatoes and remove their skin. Heat oil in a kadhai and add mustard seeds.
Add curry leaves, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chillies, and ginger. Saute onions.
Add tomatoes and potatoes. Cook the ingredients and season with salt, sambar powder, and pepper.
Spread a thick layer of idli dosa batter on a hot griddle. Add the potato masala mix on top.
When the base is brown, flip the uttapam to cook the other side.
Flip again and serve the uttapam with sambar, coconut chutney, or green chutney.
