Masala khichdi is a one-pot dish that is light on the stomach and super easy to make. If you want to have a light meal, try this delicious masala khichdi recipe that can be made in fifteen minutes.
1 cup moong dal 1 cup rice 3 tablespoons ghee or butter 1/4 teaspoon hing 1 tablespoon ginger 1/2 tablespoon garlic 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 2.5 cups water Salt to taste
Rinse and soak the moong dal and rice together for a few hours.
Heat some ghee and add turmeric powder, hing, salt, chopped ginger and garlic.
Transfer the masala to a cooker, add dal and rice, and cook on high pressure for about 10 minutes.
After the whistle, turn off the heat and let the cooker release pressure before you open the lid.
Garnish with chopped cilantro leaves and ghee, and enjoy.
