South Indian masala chai is a fragrant tea perfect for a cosy morning or for chilly winter nights. To make the most of the monsoon season, try this authentic and easy recipe for chaha.
1.5 cups water 1 inch cinnamon stick 3 green cardamoms 4 cloves 5 black peppercorns ½ inch fresh ginger, grated 1 teaspoon black tea ¾ cup milk Sugar to taste
Dry roast cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and peppercorns till aromatic.
Add water and grated ginger to the same pan. Let it boil.
Add black tea and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Pour in the milk and sugar and let it simmer for a few more minutes.
Strain the tea into cups and enjoy!
