In the recent episode of Celebrity MasterChef, Chef Ranveer Brar introduced contestants to marigold rasam, a unique creation inspired by Indians using flowers to prepare delicacies. Here is a recipe for you to replicate it at home.
Water as needed 1 tsp rasam powder 1 tbsp tamarind pulp ½ tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste 2 red chillies A pinch of jaggery 1.5 chopped tomatoes 1 tbsp oil A pinch of hing 1 tsp mustard seeds 7-8 curry leaves 5-6 marigold flowers
Soak tamarind in water while you cook tomatoes and prepare the base for rasam.
Add tamarind pulp to the tomato rasam along with powdered spices and rasam powder.
Let the ingredients simmer and come to a boil.
Add marigold leaves to a blender and grind them into a smooth paste.
Add the paste to the rasam blend and cook it.
Temper the rasam with curry leaves, mustard seeds, and red chillies.
