Marigold flowers are deeply symbolic of Indian festivals, representing auspiciousness, joy, and celebration during autumn festivities like Diwali. Combining this vibrant floral heritage with smooth, slow-steeped cold brew coffee creates an unexpected yet harmonious beverage. This marigold-infused cold brew balances bold coffee notes with delicate, honeyed floral undertones, offering a stunning and refreshing drink to serve guests during daytime festive gatherings.
1 cup coarse coffee grounds (cold brew grind) 4 cups filtered cold water 1/4 cup fresh organic marigold petals (cleaned, washed, and dried, selecting yellow or orange varieties without bitter green bases) 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional) Ice cubes for serving
Place the coarse coffee grounds and clean organic marigold petals together in a large glass jar or French press.
Pour four cups of cold filtered water over the mixture, stirring gently to ensure all the coffee grounds and petals are thoroughly saturated.
Cover the jar and place it in the refrigerator to steep for eighteen to twenty-four hours to extract the rich coffee oils and delicate floral essence.
Strain the cold brew through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth or a paper filter into a clean bottle, stir in sweetener if desired, and serve chilled over ice.
