Mango Thokku: South Indian Instant Fruit Pickle Recipe

Mango thokku is a South Indian recipe for instant fruit pickles. If you cherish the king of fruits, this is probably the best recipe to celebrate its tangy and sweet notes while amplifying your dining experience. Follow the steps.

Ingredients

A pinch of hing 2 mangoes 2 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp red chilli powder ½ tsp jaggery ½ tsp mustard seeds ¼ tsp turmeric ½ tsp fenugreek

Step 1

Peel off the skin of mangoes and grate them.

Step 2

Prepare the tempering of mustard seeds and hing. Cook mangoes in it.

Step 3

Once mangoes soften, add the powdered spices and jaggery.

Step 4

Cook the ingredients on a low flame until the jaggery melts.

Step 5

Sprinkle a tablespoon of fennel seeds powder, and cook for another minute.

Step 6

Cool down the pickle and refrigerate. You can enjoy it for a month.
