Sattu powder, which is often known as "poor's man protein," is a pocket-friendly way to increase your protein intake. It contains around 20 grams per 100 grams and is a popular plant-based protein. Making your own sattu powder is a simple process that takes only 10–15 minutes. You can add the powder to your smoothies, shakes, and even rotis.

Ingredients

1 cup chana sattu (Bengal gram)

Roast The Chana

Dry roast 1 cup of chana sattu in a pan until aromatic and slightly coloured.

Cool The Roasted Chana

Transfer the roasted chana to a plate and let it cool completely.

Grind The Roasted Chana

Blend the cooled, roasted chana into a fine powder.

Store the Sattu Powder

Store the Sattu Powder Store the ground sattu powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Optional Flavouring

Add a pinch of salt or roasted cumin powder for extra flavour, if desired.
