The renowned dry chicken curry known as ‘chicken sukka’ originates from Karnataka's coastal region. Tender and flavourful, it's a great option for a filling dinner and goes well with rice or roti.
500 grams of chicken 2 tablespoons of oil 2 onions, chopped 2-3 green chillies, slit from the middle 5-10 curry leaves 2 tablespoons of ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
1 teaspoon of red chilli powder 1 teaspoon of garam masala 2 teaspoons of lemon juice Salt to taste Corinader leaves for garnish
Marinate the chicken with lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste and the spices.
Heat oil in a pan. Add curry leaves, onions and green chillies. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
Add the marinated chicken to the pan. Cook it for 30 minutes.
Keep stirring from time to time until the chicken is cooked through and the spices have blended in.
Remove from heat. Garish with coriander leaves. Serve with rice or roti.
