Sukhdi is a traditional Gujarati sweet made with whole wheat flour, ghee and jaggery, offering a warm, nutty flavour that feels especially comforting in winter. This is a classic homemade sweet that tastes best fresh and warm.
1 cup whole wheat flour ½ cup ghee ¾ cup grated jaggery A pinch of cardamom (optional)
Heat ghee in a pan and roast the wheat flour on low heat until golden and aromatic.
Turn off the heat and add grated jaggery, letting it melt fully in the residual warmth.
Stir until smooth, adding cardamom if you like.
Spread onto a greased plate, flatten evenly and cut into squares while warm.
