Make These Crispy Churros At Home For Dessert

With a fluffy centre and crunchy crust, churros are the ultimate finger food to make when you have friends over or simply want an unfussed sweet treat to enjoy in solitude. Dust them with cinnamon sugar or dip in a decadent chocolate ganache, or use them as a topping to your bowl of ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 cup boiling water 1 pinch salt Oil, for frying 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder ¼ cup powdered sugar ¼ cup chocolate ganache, for dipping

STEP 1

Combine the flour, salt and baking powder in a mixing bowl before adding in the water and oil.

STEP 2

Mix thoroughly to combine into a sticky batter before transferring it to a greased piping bag.

STEP 3

Heat oil for frying in a saucepan and squeeze the churro batter into the hot oil gently, using a pair of scissors to determine the preferred length of each one.

STEP 4

Fry over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, until they puff up slightly and turn golden-brown.

STEP 5

Meanwhile, combine the cinnamon and sugar on a quarter plate and toss the hot churros on it to coat thoroughly on all sides.

STEP 6

Serve hot with some chocolate ganache on the side for dipping.
