Paneer butter masala is one of the most frequently ordered dishes at a North Indian restaurant. To make the spicy and buttery Punjabi-style sabzi at home, here’s an authentic recipe.
250 grams paneer 1 tablespoon oil 2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup water 1 onion 3 tomatoes 1 ginger 2 green chillies 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Heat some oil in a pan and half-fry the paneer pieces until golden brown.
Take a pot and add butter and cumin seeds. Add chopped onions, ginger, chillies, and tomatoes.
Mix in coriander, turmeric, red chilli, and garam masala powder with some water.
Take a blender and blend the gravy to even out the consistency.
Add the fried paneer pieces and let the gravy simmer.
Add heavy cream to make the paneer butter masala richer. Serve hot.
