Make South Indian Banana Chips At Home In Just 5 Easy Steps

South India’s most popular munchies, banana chips, are favourites for all the right reasons. But instead of buying it from a store with added preservatives, why don’t you make a healthier version at home?

Ingredients

4-5 raw bananas 2 litres water 2 tablespoons salt 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional) Oil for deep frying

Step 1

Pick raw bananas that are firm and green. Chop them into very thin slices.

Step 2

Mix water, salt, and turmeric powder. Soak the banana slices in water for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3

Drain the slices and spread them on paper towels to get rid of moisture.

Step 4

Heat some oil and deep fry the banana slices till crispy.

Step 5

Season the fried chips with salt and store them in an air-tight container.
