Make Restaurant-Style Veg Jalfrezi In 6 Easy Steps

Veg Jalfrezi is a popular Indian dish featuring a mix of colourful vegetables in a vibrant, aromatic gravy. The lip-smacking taste might make you think that it is difficult to make, but here’s an easy recipe you can try.


2 tablespoons oil ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 1 green chilli 1 onion, chopped 1 inch ginger, grated 1 clove garlic, grated 1 cup chopped tomatoes 1 tablespoon tomato puree 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ½ teaspoon cumin powder 1 cup mixed vegetables (capsicum, carrots, beans, peas) ½ teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Step 1

Heat some oil and add cumin seeds and green chilli. Let the cumin seeds splutter.

Step 2

Add chopped onion, ginger, and garlic and cook until golden brown.

Step 3

Add chopped tomatoes and tomato puree and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Mix in red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and cumin powder.

Step 5

Add all the chopped vegetables and cook till tender. Season with salt and garam masala.

Step 6

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
