Make Old-School Railway Cutlets At Home: A Step-By-Step Recipe

From the classic potato cutlet to the mixed vegetable cutlet you get on trains, every recipe is flavourful and simple to prepare. They use a variety of vegetables, spices, and textures to make appealing treats that everyone can enjoy!

Ingredients

2 large-sized boiled potatoes, mashed 1 boiled carrot, mashed ½ cup of boiled green peas, mashed ¼ cup of boiled beans, mashed 2 medium-sized onions, chopped 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste ½ teaspoon of red chilli powder ½ teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste A few coriander leaves, for garnish Cooking oil as required

Step 1

Mix the mashed veggies, such as beans, potatoes, carrots, and peas, in a bowl.

Step 2

Add the chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and cumin seeds to a pan with heated oil. Sautéed till the onions are golden brown.

Step 3

Now, add the coriander leaves, garam masala, red chilli powder, salt, and mashed veggies. Mix it gently. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the mixture from the heat. After letting the mixture cool, form it into tiny patties.

Step 5

In a skillet with heated oil, shallow-fry the cutlets until they are golden brown on both sides.

Step 6

Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
