Onion paratha is a spicy North Indian flatbread stuffed with seasoned onions. Crispy, flavourful, and easy to make, it's perfect for breakfast or a quick meal with curd or pickle.
For Dough: 2 cups wheat flour Salt to taste Water as needed 1 tsp oil For Stuffing: 1 cup finely chopped onions 2 finely chopped green chillies 2 tbsp chopped coriander ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp ajwain (carom seeds) Salt to taste
Mix flour, salt, and water to knead a soft dough, then add oil, knead again, and rest for 15-20 minutes.
Mix onions, green chillies, coriander, red chilli powder, ajwain, and salt. (Do this just before stuffing to avoid water release.)
Take a dough ball, roll into a small circle, place some onion mix, seal, and roll gently into a paratha.
Heat a tawa, cook paratha on both sides with oil or ghee till golden brown spots appear.
Enjoy with curd, pickle, or butter.
