Vadas, the South Indian staple, is one of the most treasured snacks for all the right reasons. To make the vada healthier, try this gluten-free recipe. You can also air fry the vadas to minimise the use of oil.
1 cup mixed millets 1/4 cup urad dal 1 onion 1 green chilli 1/2 inch ginger 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste Oil for deep frying
Wash and soak millets and urad dal. Drain and grind it into a smooth batter.
Add chopped onion, green chilli, ginger, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, red chilli, turmeric powder, and salt.
Let the batter rest for about half an hour.
Heat some oil and deep fry small portions of the batter. Air fry to make them healthier.
Once golden brown, drain on paper towels and serve the vadas with chutneys.
