On busy mornings when you’re juggling between innumerable tasks, breakfast often gets skipped. However, this 15-minute masala poha recipe will help you start the day on an empty stomach.
1.5 cups flattened rice 1 tablespoon oil 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts ½ teaspoon mustard seeds 10 curry leaves ¼ cup chopped onion ¼ cup peas ¼ cup chopped tomato ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste Lemon juice for garnishing
Rinse the flattened rice till they soften a bit, and set them aside.
Heat some oil and saute mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chopped onion.
Mix in peas, chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, and red chilli powder.
When the tomatoes are soft, add the rinsed flattened rice and mix well.
Cook for a few minutes and garnish with roasted peanuts and lemon juice. Serve it hot.
