Make Lucknow-Style Black Carrot Halwa For A Warm Goodbye To Winters

Ingredients

8-10 black carrots, peeled and grated 2 ½ cup of milk 3 tbsp ghee 10-15 almonds, slivered 10-15 pistachios, blanched and chopped ½ cup sugar 1 tbsp honey A drop of vinegar ½ tsp dry cinnamon powder and dry ginger powder Silver vark Pomegranate pearls Mint leaves

Step 1

Add the milk and grated black carrot to a pressure cooker. Stir thoroughly. Cover, add the ghee, and cook under pressure until it becomes tender.

Step 2

Put melted ghee in a pan. Add the chopped nuts and cook over medium heat. Once completed, set it aside for later use.

Step 3

Add the pressure-cooked black carrot and ghee to a deep-bottom kadai. Continue to stir occasionally while cooking over medium heat.

Step 4

Stir in the sugar and simmer until it melts. Add salt and stir thoroughly. Mix thoroughly after adding the vinegar, honey, dried ginger powder, and green cardamom.

Step 5

Cook until the mixture is dry, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the fried nuts and simmer for two to three minutes.

Step 6

Add pomegranate pearls, mint leaves, silver vark, and fried nuts as garnish. Serve cold or hot.
