Dal dhokli is a traditional Gujarati dish that is made with lentils and dumplings and is made with besan. For a typical rainy day, it is a warm and comforting meal that you must try.
For Dal: 2 cups Toor dal 3 cups water 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste For The Dhokli: 1 cup besan Water Salt to taste
Rinse and soak toor dal for at least half an hour.
Add soaked dal, water, and all the spices in a pressure cooker. Cook for 15-20 whistles.
Prepare dhokli by kneading a dough with besan, water, and salt.
Make small balls and roll them into ropes. Cut the ropes into pieces and add to the cooked dal.
Let the dal simmer for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
