This beverage is very popular in India and Southeast Asian countries during the summer months and is said to be rich with antioxidants
1 cup of fresh falsa fruit ½ cup sugar 4 cups of water ½ teaspoon black salt ½ teaspoon cumin powder Mint leaves, as needed
Wash the falsa berries and crush the fruit in a blender to extract the juice.
Strain to remove seeds and pulp. Next, in a large pot, heat water and sugar over medium heat.
Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the falsa juice, black salt and cumin powder to the pot.
Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat. Let it simmer for 7 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the sharbat cool down. Transfer sharbat to a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled.
Pour the sharbat into glasses and garnish with mint leaves. Enjoy
