The festive season is back with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year on the way. And if you need a guilt-free dessert, nothing’s better than a date and walnut cake. Here’s an eggless recipe for you.
1.5 cups chopped dates 1 cup chopped walnuts 1.5 cups water 3/4 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup oil 3 cups maida 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt
Boil some water, add chopped dates and powdered sugar, and let it simmer till the dates are soft.
Let the date mixture cool till you whisk maida, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together.
Gradually add the wet date mixture you just prepared and fold in chopped walnuts.
Preheat the oven, and then pour the batter into a pan and bake for about an hour.
Let the cake cool and garnish with some walnuts and dates.
