Make Disney-Like Ratatouille At Home In 5 Steps

Ratatouille is not just a dish from the film Ratatouille. It’s a French delicacy in real life. Originating in Provence, it is a veg stew cooked with zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers and herbed spices. If you’ve ever wondered what it tastes like and how you can make it at home, follow this recipe!

Ingredients

1 large onion, chopped into moon shapes 3 tablespoons of olive oil 3 garlic cloves, crushed 1 yellow bell pepper, diced 1 red bell pepper, diced 1 green bell pepper, diced 1 eggplant or brinjal, chopped into moon shapes 2 medium-sized courgettes, sliced into half moons

Ingredients

400 grams of chopped Italian tomatoes 2 tablespoons of tomato puree 1 teaspoon of herbed Italian spices Sea salt to taste Grounded pepper Parmesan cheese Fresh basil leaves

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in one large pan. Keep the heat to a medium. Put in the onion and garlic. Cook them for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Add more olive oil, bell peppers, courgettes and eggplants in a circle one by one. Cook for 10 minutes, until the aromas are released.

Step 3

Follow the same pattern. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, herbs and spices. Pour in the water.

Step 4

Cover and let it cook 15-20 minutes. Stir a few times in between until the veggies turn into pops of colour.

Step 5

Remove from heat. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and basil. Serve ratatouille with spaghetti or pasta.
