With ingredients like toor dal and besan, dal dhokli is known to be a high-protein recipe. If you want to try a healthy Gujarati dish, you must go for dal dhokli. Pair it with thepla, rice, or roti for a balanced meal.
For Dal: 2 cups toor dal 3 cups water 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste For The Dhokli: 1 cup besan Water Salt to taste
Rinse and soak toor dal for at least half an hour.
Add soaked dal, water, and all the spices to a pressure cooker. Cook for 15-20 whistles.
Prepare dhokli by kneading a dough with besan, water, and salt.
Make small balls and roll them into ropes. Cut the ropes into pieces and add them to the cooked dal.
Let the dal simmer for a few minutes, and then serve it hot.
