Make Curry Leaves Podi With This South Indian Recipe

Curry leaves podi is often used in a South Indian household for most of the dishes, be it gravy-based or dry. So, why don’t you make a preservative-free spice mix at home in just 4 steps?

Ingredients

1 teaspoon oil 1 tablespoon channa dal 1 tablespoon urad dal 1 tablespoon dhaniya 1 teaspoon jeera 1 teaspoon black pepper 5 Dry red chillies 1 cup curry leaves 1 tamarind Salt to taste

Step 1

To make the podi, add in the oil and roast on a slow flame till aromatic.

Step 2

Add the rest of the ingredients and cook till the curry leaves are a little crispy.

Step 3

Grind the mixture into a fine powder.

Step 4

Store it in an airtight container and use it whenever required.
