Palak pakora is a mix of nutrition and deliciousness. For those who do not like the taste of palak (spinach), but want to add it to their diet, can try this recipe at home, which will make you taste palak in its tastiest form.
2 cups fresh palak, chopped 1 cup besan 2 tbsp rice flour 1 tsp red chili powder ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp ajwain ½ tsp cumin seeds Pinch of asafoetida (optional) Salt to taste Water (as needed for batter) Oil (for deep frying)
In a bowl, add besan, rice flour, spices, and salt. Add minimal water to it, the consistency should not be runny to make pakoras.
Add the chopped leaves. Coat them well with the batter from all sides.
Heat oil in a pan for deep frying on a medium-high flame. Before frying the fritters, test if the oil is ready by dropping some batter. If the batter sizzles and comes up, the oil is ready.
Drop a spoonful of palak leaves covered with the batter in the pan and let them fry until golden brown.
Drain the pakoras on a tissue paper, sprinkle some chaat masala on the top and serve hot with a cup of chai
